Toolkit 2 - Life Drawing: Understanding Environment



To commence our first Life Drawing session of the year, Simon talked us through how to understand our environment so that we can recreate it effectively in art. Below are some of the exercises that we completed in class. The first image is a photograph of the contemporary sculpture that we were drawing, from the perspective that I was standing. Each exercise involved a different focus point, such as negative space, tonal value and specific folds in the fabrics.
