Toolkit 2: Maya - Understanding Dialogue/Phonetics

For this lesson, we were tasked with animating Moom to lipsync with an audio clip provided. To begin with, we are just moving the jaw up and down, however we need to make sure that the jaw moves in time with the words. We will then move on to shaping the mouth.

But when an unexpected force threatens the norm, it’s up to The Incredibles (2004) to save the day. Directed by Brad Bird, The Incredibles (2004) can be identified as a Hero’s Journey film, with examples of character archetypes that are associated with the Hero’s Journey concept. We begin our journey with Bob Parr, also known as Mr Incredible. He had a career as a superhero in his glory days, but then is reduced to the mundane life of a “normal” man after the Superhero race was cast out of society and forced into hiding. Film Review - "The Lego Movie" (2014) - A Hero's Journey

Figure 1. 'The Lego Movie Poster' A timeless and classic children’s constructible toy now comes to life in this hyperactive and bubblegum pop movie known as The Lego Movie (2014). The concept of the Lego Movie can be perceived to follow Joseph Campell’s theory known as the Hero’s Journey, and can be split into three acts accordingly; Separation, Initiation, and Return. Each act has a series of steps within which portrays the path of each tale respectively. Although some stories can vary in the order, the initial concept remains the same.
